Lurone “Coach” Jennings, a 1972 graduate of Howard High School, has built an impressive career with over 20 years of experience in residential mortgages, making him the visionary leader behind Royal Commercial Capital. A lifelong learner, he earned his Bachelor of Science from Fisk University in 1977 and later obtained a Master's degree from Trevecca University.
Coach Jennings dedicated 25 years to education as a teacher, coach, and high school principal, and served as the Executive Director of the Bethlehem Center for two decades. He also played a pivotal role in the community as the founder and chairman of the Bethlehem Community Development Credit Union from 1996 to 2011.
In addition to his educational and financial careers, Coach Jennings served as a minister in the United Methodist Church from 1995 to 2013, authored four books, and worked as an Associate Publisher for the Chattanooga News Chronicle. His public service continued as a member of Mayor Andy Berke’s administration from 2013 to 2021. A devoted family man, he has been married for 44 years and is the proud father of one daughter, two sons, and the grandfather of four.
